Matthew Short, the skipper of San Francisco Unicorns wins the PLAYER OF THE MATCH AWARD. he says that the wicket was tacky. The ground was covered most of the morning, and the groundsmen had done a fantastic job. Also says that in this wicket, anything more than 130 would be nice to defend; therefore, their team was confident enough after the first inning. Also continues that the bowlers have done an amazing job. Ends up saying that they have come back from losing two games back to back , and he feels great to get the momentum back.
TIME FOR PRESENTATION...
Earlier, Texas bowled San Francisco out for 148, with Marcus Stoinis claiming 3 wickets and Nandre, Akeal, and Noor chipping in with one each. San Francisco's skipper Short top-scored with 80, steadied the innings with a 69-run partnership with Hassan after the team slumped to 19/3.
The skipper of Texas Super Kings, Faf du Plessis says that the bowlers bowled really well. Continue that it was a bit tough to bat in the powerplay. Also says that if his team had not lost so many wickets in the first 6-10 overs, the result would have been something else. Ends up saying that it was an important last game to ensure they can finish in the top two of the table.
After losing the wicket of Saiteja Mukkamalla, Shubham Ranjane and Donovan Ferreira had to form another partnership and then they started to give some hopes to Texas Super Kings. However, Calvin Savage and Mohammad Mohsin tried their best in the death overs to cross the finishing line first, but they were 1 run short. Donovan Ferreira was spectacular with his knocks. He is the reason that the Super Kings got this far in the game, but Matthew Short and company made it loud and clear that it was not enough to beat them. Brody Couch bowled magnificently, to pick both the openers, Romario Shepherd did wiell to pick two wickets in the death over, Karima Gore and Hassan Khan chipped in for one each.
What an entertaining encounter it was! That was certainly the clash of the best! The top order of Texas Super Kings fumbles like the opposition fumbled in the first inning. Saiteja Mukkamalla and Marcus Stoinis formed a partnership with singles and doubles, but the latter had to lose the wicket as he was putting pressure on the paddle to give up hefty blows, but the bowlers of San Francisco Unicorns hunted him down before he turned into a madman.
