Another one-sided game in the PSL! That is all from this game. Join us on the 20th of this month as Karachi Kings will take on Islamabad United at 8.30 pm IST (3 pm GMT). Do join us earlier for the build up. Goodbye and cheers till then.
Babar Azam, the skipper of Peshawar Zalmi says they lost two wickets initially but Mohammad Haris and Tom Kohler-Cadmore played well to pick some momentum. On Ali Raza, Azam says he is a confident player and is always ready to learn from the senior players. Reckons the game mostly changes in the middle overs and says his bowlers bowled well to put Multan Sultans under pressure.
Abdul Samad is the PLAYER OF THE MATCH. He says expectations were there from him to play this kind of role after his successful domestic outings and he backed his natural game. Tells the idea was to take the score above 200. Mentions he played accordingly to the situation and it came out well for him.
...Presentation next...
Mohammad Rizwan, the captain of Multan Sultans, says the toss wasn't that important but admits they wanted to bat first. Tells the fielding wasn't their best today. Mentions they were in a similar position last season but they are not thinking much and hoping for a good game soon. Feels the home conditions don't matter as they want to play good cricket in any conditions.
The spell from Ali Raza was one of the best we have seen so far this season. He and Arif Yaqoob bowled in tandem to dismantle Sultans' middle order, which put them in the driver's seat. There was a lot to offer for the bowlers and Peshawar Zalmi executed their plans perfectly. Babar Azam shuffled his bowlers really well. Where Multan Sultans' middle order failed, earlier we saw Peshawar Zalmi's middle order step up. Tom Kohler-Cadmore scored a fine fifty while Owen and Samad gave a perfect finish to push Peshawar Zalmi over 220 which was well above par on this two-paced pitch.
Once again, the chasing team have felt the pressure in the Pakistan Super League. Although Multan Sultans were chasing above 200, they had the firepower for things to work out but they lost their star batter, Mohammad Rizwan earlier in the game. Usman Khan came with intent and played some fabulous shots but Hope struggled at the other end which allowed Peshawar Zalmi to get into the game. The middle order though tumbled up! Kamran Ghulam, Iftikhar Ahmed, Ashton Turner, Michael Bracewell, all went for a single-digit score, which dusted up the game for Multan Sultans.
A big margin win for Peshawar Zalmi and they are finally off the charts this season. They leave their foes, Multan Sultans as the only team remaining to win this season. So, for the sixth consecutive match, we saw the defending team win the game. Just a stat you might want to know...

Mitchell Owen 2/2(0.5)
OUT! TAKEN! All done! Mitchell Owen ends with two wickets. Short of a length and on middle and leg. Javed heaves but once again Mitchell Owen bowls a pace off delivery. It goes high and to deep square leg where Abdul Samad runs in, dives and holds onto it as he meets the ground. Peshawar Zalmi win by 120 runs.

Too full and on middle, Javed drills it to the left of mid on.
Akif Javed is the last man in.
OUT! TAKEN! The slower ball does it for Owen! He gets a wicket too! Serves it full and pace off outside off, Willey tries to clear long off but fails to power and Luke Wood in the deep takes it safely.

Short of a length and outside off. Shah pulls and top edges it high and to deep mid-wicket. Was in the air for a long time but it falls safely. One.

Shorter and on leg, Willey pulls it to deep square leg for a single.
Strategic Break! Not sure what the strategy would be at this time from either team, as the game looks done and dusted. Peshawar Zalmi just need to end well while Multan Sultans will hope David Willey hits a couple of lusty blows and cut off the margin.
