Right then, that is it from this shortened yet exciting game, where Lahore Qalandars knocked out Peshawar Zalmi. We have our top four for the PSL 2025 - Quetta Gladiators, Karachi Kings, Islamabad United, and Lahore Qalandars. The last league match will be played between the Kings and United on 19th May, Monday, which will decide the playoff fixtures. It will begin at 2.30 pm GMT. Until then, cheers and goodbye!
Salman Mirza is the PLAYER OF THE MATCH for his fantastic four-fer.
Peshawar Zalmi, on the other hand, will be disappointed, as they know they could have put on a better fight. No one really got going at the top, and the pressure got to Babar Azam. Despite Daniel Sams and Ahmed Daniyal's late fireworks, it was not going to be enough. The bowlers also took a beating from Fakhar Zaman earlier in the game and conceded a bit too much, which proved to be just out of reach for them, and that brings curtains to their campaign.
Defending a big total in a shortened game, Lahore Qalandars started with a fiery spell from Salman Mirza, who removed three batters inside the Powerplay, putting the opponents on the back foot. Once Sikandar Raza got rid of the biggest threat, Babar Azam, they had full control of the game. Mirza added another to his tally while the experienced duo of Shaheen Afridi and Haris Rauf shared three wickets and closed out the game to gain the all-important two points.
Lahore Qalandars have done it and made it to the playoffs! A fantastic effort from them, first with the bat and then with the ball as well. They are going into the knockouts with momentum and a lot of confidence. This was a complete performance from them, and they know if they continue like this, they have a great chance of lifting the trophy.
