Maaz Sadaqat wins the PLAYER OF THE MATCH AWARD.
Earlier in the day, the United started on a slower note with the bat keeping wickets in hand, hoping to maximise as the ball gets older. Once they tried to accelerate, Peshawar Zalmi chipped in and took wickets regularly. Peshawar Zalmi got the upper hand and eventually didn't allow Islamabad United to score freely in the second half of the first innings. Ben Dwarshuis scored 33 off just 17 balls to take the total over 140 but it wasn't enough eventually.
A convincing win for Peshawar Zalmi and they keep their playoff hopes alive. For the table toppers Islamabad United, it's two losses in two. Are the wheels coming off for them at the wrong time? Once again, their batting department lacked power and got bundled out for a mere 143 runs, losing 9 wickets. Peshawar Zalmi lost their openers in the first two overs but Babar Azam played a quality innings to steady the ship. He allowed Maaz Sadaqat to showcase his talent as he scored fifty in no time which was enough to seal the game. A comfortable win for Peshawar Zalmi! Credit to their bowlers though to bundle out such a heavy lifting batting order of Islamabad United so cheaply.
