Texas Super Kings beat MI New York by 3 runs

Right then, that is it from this thrilling contest where Texas Super Kings edged past MI New York. However, the action in the MLC 2025 continues on 15th June Sunday with a double-header. First, it will be the San Francisco Unicorns taking on the LA Knight Riders at 8 am GMT. Then Seattle Orcas go up against Washington Freedom at 12 pm GMT. But as you know, you can always join us early for all the build-up to both matches. Until then, cheers and goodbye!
Faf du Plessis, the victorious skipper of Texas Super Kings, says that it feels like a bit of a steal. Adds that they were good for the first 10 overs, but not so great in the next 10, but a couple of run outs changed the game. Praises Daryl Mitchell and says that he had a tough start but came back brilliantly and Milne has been great for them too. Mentions that he loves fielding and loves to chase the ball, so he enjoyed it. Says that the atmosphere was nice in the stadium and you could feel the buzz.
Calvin Savage is the PLAYER OF THE MATCH for his brilliant knock. He says that batting with Devon Conway is really good as he brings a calm presence on the other end. Adds that he thought they were a bit short but credits the bowlers for the way they started in the Powerplay. Says that was also an unbelievable team effort in the last five overs to turn things around, and loved it.
Presentation Time...
Nicholas Pooran, the captain of MI New York, says that it is never over until the last ball. Adds that it is a tough one to take, but though 185 was a good total to chase. Says that Savage and Conway batted well and got 15 runs too many, but he cannot blame his bowlers as this is just the first game. Mentions that they were in the game but just needed that one more wicket. Says that he himself needs to take more responsibility as he got out on the second ball after getting a life. Ends by saying he will try to do things better going forward.
Texas Super Kings were sharp in the Powerplay, with Adam Milne setting the tone by striking twice early. Noor Ahmad followed up by removing the dangerous Pooran, giving TSK the upper hand. But things began to slip as MI New York counter-attacked, and suddenly, the momentum had shifted. Just when it seemed like the game was drifting away, Milne returned to break the big partnership, though it was Faf du Plessis who stole the spotlight with a jaw-dropping one-handed catch. Even then, the Kings were still slightly behind, but Daryl Mitchell’s sharp presence of mind led to back-to-back run outs of Pollard and Monank, turning the tide. The rest of the fielders held their nerve in the death overs, and that collective effort saw them sneak over the line in a thrilling finish.
Earlier in the game, the Texas Super Kings put up a competitive total, thanks to impressive half-centuries from Devon Conway and Calvin Savage, who took the attack to the bowlers in the death overs - a phase that ultimately proved to be the difference. For MI New York, Michael Bracewell picked up a couple of wickets, while Ehsan Adil, Naveen-ul-Haq, and Sunny Patel each chipped in with one.
MI New York had a nightmare start, losing both openers and Nicholas Pooran inside the Powerplay, which immediately put them on the back foot. But Michael Bracewell and Monank Patel came together to steady the innings. While Monank took some time to find his rhythm, once he connected a couple off the middle, he looked like a different player. The duo stitched together a 97-run stand that brought MI NY right back into the game, with Monank reaching a well-deserved fifty. Then came the Pollard blitz- he walked in and smashed a quick-fire cameo, putting them in cruise control. But in a bizarre turn of events, both Patel and Pollard were run out off consecutive deliveries, and from there, the innings unraveled. They just couldn’t bounce back and ended up falling agonisingly short.
Texas Super Kings have pulled off a stunning heist! Just when it looked like the game was slipping away, they clawed their way back thanks to a mix of gritty resolve and some baffling running and decision-making from MI New York. It was a rollercoaster of a contest, but the Kings held their nerve and snatched victory from the jaws of defeat in dramatic fashion.

No he can't! Daryl Mitchell serves this full again, takes pace off, Tajinder Singh looks to slog it downtown but only manages a top edge that falls in front of long off. They cross. Texas Super Kings win by 3 runs!

A huge appeal for LBW, but turned down! Fuller and on middle, angling in, Tajinder Singh swings but misses and gets hit on the pads as the ball rolls away. A leg bye is taken. Faf du Plessis takes the review but Ball Tracking shows that it is missing leg.
