Earlier in the match, Lyca Kovai Kings posted a commanding total of 203, with Sachin B anchoring the chase with a fluent 116. The innings started cautiously, with both of their openers departing early, but Sachin B steadied the ship and built a strong foundation. Shahrukh Khan then came in towards the end and provided a blazing finish, smashing 45 off just 14 balls to accelerate the innings late on.
The partnership was broken in the 11th over, with Vidyuth P claiming the wickets of both Nidhish and Abishiek. From there, SKM Salem Spartans' batting order struggled, leading to a steady loss of wickets.
