That's a wrap for this match! Peshawar Zalmi successfully chased down the target. Stay tuned for the next match between Quetta Gladiators vs Karachi Kings on April 25, 2025, at 3 pm GMT. We'll have pre-match coverage starting an hour earlier. Until next time, goodbye!
The skipper of Peshawar Zalmi, Babar Azam says that every game is important for them and there's no room for errors. Also says that their bowling unit did really well in the powerplay. Continues that they worked on the plan and he is happy as his team executed it well. While chasing he says that they lost a lot of wickets, but he knew if he stabilized the partnership with Hussain Talat it would be easy for them to chase.
Alzarri Joseph wins the Player of the Match. He says that he's experienced bowling in the league has been really good so far. Continues that it's always a challenge to bowl in different venues, as he has played in three venues until now and faced good challenges in all three. Ends up saying that the new ball was offering a bit of swing, and they capitalised on it to pick up early wickets.
Shaheen Afridi, the skipper of Lahore Qalandars starts off saying that they changed their batting line a bit. Asif Ali came first to bat as he opened a lot in domestic cricket, so they just wanted to try him as an opening batter, but things didn't work out well for him. He also reckons that the luck wasn't on their side tonight. Ends up saying that they will surely make a comeback in the next game.
Stay tuned for the presentation...
Lahore Qalandars have to thank Sikandar Raza for his massive contribution with the bat. Without his innings, Lahore would have probably ended under 100, but his excellent fifty under tremendous pressure helped them reach a decent total. Although it didn’t look enough, and needed something special from their bowlers. Shaheen struck in the very first over and his team did a good job of staying in the game. However, the loss was probably on the cards for them.
A total domination from Peshawar Zalmi! It was their bowlers who did most of the job. It was a good toss to win for the Zalmi’s. Opting to bowl first, their ace bowlers - Luke Wood and Alzarri Joseph made the most of the new ball and cracked Lahore into half. They took five wickets inside the Powerplay and put a lot of pressure on Lahore to score in front of their home fans. In reply, Shaheen Afridi and Haris Rauf also bowled brilliantly in the powerplay of overs to hunt three of their opposition's batters. But they just needed one partnership to blossom and chase the total down. Babar Azam picked up right from where he left off. Once again, his innings proved to be the difference. Azam’s fifty, along with contributions from Haris and Talat, chased it down without breaking a sweat.
