The skipper of Karachi Kings, David Warner says it is an amazing achievement, says they want to play with a never-say-die attitude and James Vince and Khushdil Shah showed that today. Tells they gave away too many extras, 200 looked par but they were positive with the bat and that was important. Mentions Vince and Shah have experience and partnerships like that will win any game.
James Vince wins the PLAYER OF THE MATCH AWARD for his match-winning century! He says it was a tough chase but it was a good surface to bat on. Credits the way Khushdil Shah played. Reckons they were lucky to find boundaries at crucial points. On his run out, he feels it could have been nice to be out there, but is delighted to get over the line.
...Presentation...
Mohammad Rizwan, the skipper of Multan Sultans says bowling in the second innings was tough due to the dew. Feels there was a lot of swing in the first innings and feels they could have scored around 250. Shares they didn't execute well with the ball, appreciates the way Kings batted but reckons they could have done much better in the middle phase with the ball.
You feel for Mohammad Rizwan at this point. A century of the highest quality from him! At the halfway mark, Multan Sultans would have been confident of defending this humongous total down. However, their bowling was ordinary and was not helped by the dew in the second half of the game. Usama Mir was the economical of the lot as the others went over 10 runs per over. Earlier, as said, we saw a special knock from Pakistan's wicket-keeper, Mohammad Rizwan. Kamran Ghulam and Michael Bracewell played a handy innings too but eventually it turned out to be short of what was required with dew helping the batters.
So, David Warner starts his captaincy tenure in the PSL with a win! They have pulled off a massive target. They have made it look comfortable but it wasn't easy when Karachi Kings lost the openers, David Warner and Tim Seifert inside the Powerplay. The latter gave his team a good start but left for the others to do the hard work. James Vince came in at a crucial time when his team was struggling but he played with intent right from the word go and his innings of 101 runs turned the game's tide. His partnership with Khushdil Shah just killed the game. Both fell in a tricky period but the job was mostly done till then. Abbas Afridi came out and gave the finishing touches to wrap up a perfect chase.
