Man of the Match
Sahibzada Farhan
Commentry
So, two out of two for both teams. One is at the top while the other is at the bottom. A lot to ponder upon for Peshawar Zalmi as this is heartbreaking cricket already from them. That is all from this game. The action continues in the PSL as Karachi Kings will face Lahore Qalandars on the 15th of this month at 8.30 pm IST (3 pm GMT). You can join us earlier for the build up. Till then, cheers!
Shadab Khan, the skipper of Islamabad United starts by appreciating the knock of Sahibzada Farhan and says he has worked a lot behind the scenes. Tells they have depth in their batting order and they want to make the most of it. The pitch wasn't a 240-score pitch but Farhan played really well. Mentions there are a couple of unsung players like Mohammad Nawaz who was brilliant on the field.
Sahibzada Farhan wins the MAN OF THE MATCH AWARD for his incredible century! He credits today's innings to Fakhar Zaman, who suggested he play the way he does in domestic cricket. Talks about a couple of sixes he played against the spinners. Reckons he will try and continue to play the same way, as this is the way T20 cricket is working.
...Presentation..
Babar Azam, the skipper of Peshawar Zalmi says they are unable to execute plans with both bat and ball and have to sit down and talk about that. Tells they have a good squad and some quality youngsters but there is pressure to play at this stage. Reckons they'll talk about the mistakes and make sure not to repeat them in the next match.
Chasing is an art that could be painted when the whole team gets together, but yet again, Peshawar Zalmi succumb under pressure. Babar Azam is playing binary cricket right now, 0 in the first match and 1 in this game. He and his team can't catch a break. Mohammad Haris though, showed how good a pitch it was to bat on. He single-handedly kept Peshawar Zalmi in the game, to be honest, didn't keep them in the game but just made sure they don't suffer a humongous margin defeat than they already have. Overall, it felt like Peshawar Zalmi just didn't arrive today to play as they were beaten comprehensively with both bat and ball.  ">There is an art that could be painted when the whole team gets together, but yet again, Peshawar Zalmi succumb under pressure. Babar Azam is playing binary cricket right now: 0 in the first match and 1 run in this game. Peshawar Zalmi have now suffered a big-margin defeat in consecutive games. They lost by 80 runs against Quetta and have lost by 102 runs today. Not the ideal start for Azam and Co. Their bowlers yet again conceded more than 200. They didn't learn from their mistakes from the previous match and bowled pretty ordinary throughout the game, giving away quite a few freebies. Islamabad United didn't waste any chances and went bang, bang throughout the first half. Sahibzada Farhan scored a brilliant century and added a 144-run stand with Colin Munro for the second wicket. Salman Agha, Jason Holder, and Azam Khan all played handy innings to push the score close to 250.
