Four out of four for teams chasing this season. That is all from this game. We have a double-header tomorrow on the 9th of this month as Oval Invincibles will take on Manchester Originals first and later, Welsh Fire face London Spirit. The Women's team will be in action first. Join us at 3.30 pm IST (10 am GMT) and earlier for all the action and build up. Cheers!
Lockie Ferguson wins the PLAYER OF THE MATCH AWARD. He says the boys were brilliant today. Tells the boys bowled well with the change-ups, slower deliveries and different lines. Shares the team has gotten together very quickly, a bunch of good players and he is enjoying his time but there is a long way to go. Mentions that he is looking forward to the next game, which is just around the corner.
Trent Rockets were offered some looseners up front and they made the most of it in the chase. Tom Banton played some lovely strokes along with Rehan Ahmed, who came out at number three and played a fine innings. The win was set up by the bowlers, though. Trent Rockets were right on the money! David Willey and Akeal Hosein with the new ball and Lockie Ferguson in the middle phase. A complete performance from Trent Rockets and they have started the tournament on a positive note.
An easy win for Trent Rockets! 122 was never going to be enough on this pitch. In the chase, Liam Livingstone was reluctant as he bowled Kiwis, Adam Milne, Tim Southee and Trent Boult for 40 deliveries with not much happening. Benny Howell, though, bowled well. His slower deliveries were go-to on this kind of pitch but Liam Livingstone got him very late into the attack. A couple of questionable tactics from Liam Livingstone but just one game into the tournament and hopefully he'll learn it quickly.
An early trend in the Men's Hundred as the chasing team has won every game so far. Trent Rockets have rocketed their way over the line without any fuss. Pin-drop silence in the ground, just as it has been throughout the game.
