Right then, that is it from this game and Trinbago Knight Riders have only solidified their exceptional record at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy in Tarouba, winning 22 out of 26 games at this venue. Next up, the action in the CPL continues with another game at this venue. It will be Trinbago Knight Riders taking on Saint Lucia Kings on Thursday, September 4. That game will begin at 4.30 am IST (11 pm GMT, the previous day), but you can join us a lot sooner for the build-up as well. Until then, take care and goodbye!
Kieron Pollard is the Player of the Match for his fiery knock. He says that he has been here playing the sport for 20 years, so he won't say he's having the form of his life, but he has his focus on the game and tries to enjoy it while he can. Continues that he wanted to give the fans and his family something to celebrate. Also says that he helps the youngsters and he's also coaching nowadays. Ends up reckoning about his preparation for the games, which is being mentally aware and understanding his own game, not the opposition's
The Presentation ceremony...
Earlier in the game, St Kitts and Nevis Patriots won the toss and asked the home to bat first. It was a rare occasion when both openers of Trinbago Knight Riders failed to make an impact and they were 27/2. The Patriots spinners then applied more pressure and kept things tight in the first half of the innings. However, Nicholas Pooran was hitting the ball sweetly and after a watchful start, Kieron Pollard went berserk, hitting 7 sixes off 8 balls at one point. The duo put on 90 runs in the blink of an eye before Pollard got out but the Knight Riders ended up posting a solid total of 179 runs on the board. Jason Holder and Naseem Shah were the pick of the bowlers for the Patriots and their spinners went for plenty in the second half of the innings.
This will be a bitter pill to swallow for St Kitts and Nevis Patriots and they are all but out of the playoff race and with just 2 games remaining, they need to win both games to stand an outside chance. Chasing a big total, the Patriots began in the best possible way and both of their openers were looking in the zone. Evin Lewis and Andre Fletcher added 96 runs for the opening wicket in just 64 balls, but once Lewis fell, it all started to go downhill for the visitors. The middle order flopped and in the end, a late surge wasn't enough to seal a win.
Trinbago Knight Riders have made it a fourth consecutive win at their home venue and have already qualified for the playoffs. It was a gritty performance as they failed to make any impact with the ball and in the field in the Powerplay, conceding over 50 runs as well. However, right after the Strategic Break, the first wicket came and Nathan Edwards gave his side the impetus they dearly needed and ended up with 3 wickets as well. The Knight Riders then managed to just keep on picking up wickets and did well to plug the boundaries well, whcih allowed them to seal a memorable win.
What a comeback win for Trinbago Knight Riders, that too in front of their buoyant home crowd on what is an extended National Day weekend holiday. They seemed to be heading towards a first home defeat of the season midway through the chase, but the bowlers have turned things around brilliantly.

SIX! BOOM! The game is still on! Tariq pitches it up, around the pads of the batter. Mohammad Rizwan crouches and sweeps it up over deep square leg fence for a biggie.
Andre Russell is off the field and Nathan Edwards has just completed Amir's unfinished over. This means it will be Usman Tariq to bowl the final over. Trinbago Knight Riders also get penalized for slow over rate and will have one less boundary rider for the final over. Can St Kitts and Nevis Patriots pull off a miracle? 27 needed off the final over.
