Right then, what a weekend we have just witnessed in The Hundred, as many as 8 action-packed games over the course of two days that spanned both the Men's and Women's fixtures, and the weekend has finished at Trent Bridge with a win for the home side. Next up, it's a new week and plenty of action still to come, and it all gets kick-started as Manchester Originals welcome London Spirit to Old Trafford on Monday, 11 August. The Men's fixture will begin at 11 pm IST (5.30 pm GMT), but you can join us a lot sooner for the build-up. Till then, take care and goodbye!
Akeal Hosein is the PLAYER OF THE MATCH for his impressive spell. He expresses his gratitude for helping and putting his team in a winning position, especially with the two crucial wickets he picked up early on. Notes that the pitch had some grip, stayed low, and was skiddy, so he focused on sticking to the team’s plans. Akeal praises the squad’s depth of talent and said he wants to make every opportunity count to stay in the hunt. He also reveals that he didn’t even have his pads on during the chase and was confident that the boys would finish the job comfortably.
The Presentation ceremony...
Earlier in the game, David Willey put Northern Superchargers into bat, and his bowlers responded positively to this call. Akeal Hosein was superb up top and got rid of both openers in quick succession. The Superchargers soon found themselves 4 down for just 34 before skipper Harry Brook and Graham Clark fought back hard and stabilized the innings to an extent. However, Marcus Stoinis came into the attack and his double strike in two balls got the Rockets back in prime position, and they managed to keep the Superchargers down to an under-par total in the end.
Imad Wasim and Adil Rashid led the fightback for Northern Superchargers after the Rockets' openers had seemingly put the visitors out of the contest. The pair picked up all five wickets between themselves, but once Holden got out, the Rockets managed to find a couple of release shots. Rehan Ahmed did make up for a sluggish innings as Marcus Stoinis put the finishing touches and sealed the win with just 4 balls remaining, and it really should have been over a lot sooner, given the platform that was laid by the openers.
Needing 125 for the win, all the Rockets needed was half a decent start in the Powerplay, and they got that as the opening duo of Tom Banton and Joe Root stitched together a stand of 57. Banton was the aggressor, but once he fell, it started to go downhill for a while. The stand between Rehan Ahmed and Max Holden for the third wicket, worth 19 balls, came in 22 balls, and the crowd went quiet as well. The spinners did really well to slow things up and keep the Superchargers in with an outside chance.
Two wins out of two for Trent Rockets, and even after a bit of a lull in the second half of the chase, the Rockets have overpowered Northern Superchargers and join the Invincibles and the Brave on 8 points at the top of the table. Also, this successful run chase makes it 7-1 in favour of the teams chasing in the 8 matches thus far in The Hundred, Men's 2025.

FOUR! DONE AND DUSTED! Trent Rockets beat Northern Superchargers by five wickets. On a good length and around off, Marcus Stoinis backs away and punches it through covers for a boundary to seal the deal. It shouldn't have gone this close, but the thing that matters is the Rockets have finished it.

SCORES ARE LEVEL! On a length and down leg, Adam Hose makes room and looks to heave it but gets an inside edge onto his back pad. Marcus Stoinis calls for a quick single and both batters run. However, as the ball has rolled away beside the pitch on the leg side, the bowler runs across to his right, picks it up and makes a throw to the bowling end. But he misses and it could have been close if it had been a direct hit. Just one run is needed now.

FOUR! THAT WILL DO! Another full toss, outside off, Adam Hose shifts his weight on the front foot and lofts it inside out over covers for a boundary. They need just 2 runs now.

A high full toss, around leg, Adam Hose uses his feet and gets cramped but manages to flick it to mid-wicket. It could have been a No Ball if Hose wouldn't have left the crease.

Good running! A full toss, around off, Marcus Stoinis drills it past the bowler to his right and comes back for the second in time, where the long off fielder gets across to his right to collect the ball and throws it to the keeper. They need 7 now.

Full and around middle, Adam Hose backs away but only manages to push it back to the bowler.

OUT! CHOPPED ON! WOW! Northern Superchargers are fighting hard and they are getting rewarded with these timely wickets! Short and around leg, turns in, Tom Alsop backs away and looks to turn it into the leg side but gets an underedge onto his front pad. The ball gets deflected and crashes into the middle stump. Trent Rockets are five down and they still need 9 runs.
