Earlier in the game, Lahore Qalandars posted a strong total of 150, thanks to Muhammad Naeem's 65 and Fakhar Zaman's half-century. Abbas Afridi was Karachi Kings' standout bowler, taking 4 wickets. Hasan Ali, Aamer Jamal and Mir Hamza took one apiece as well.
Lahore Qalandars' bowling showed promise, but the last three overs proved costly, ultimately costing them the game. Daryl Mitchell was the standout bowler, picking up 2 wickets, while the trio of Shaheen Afridi, Haris Rauf, and Asif Afridi struggled to exert pressure, with each conceding over 12 runs. Haris Rauf took 2 wickets as well but was expensive.
Karachi Kings got off to a flying start, thanks to David Warner and Tim Seifert's aggressive batting. Both openers scored 24 each, putting pressure on Lahore's bowling unit. The middle order continued to score at a good clip. Irfan Khan's explosive knock of 48 off 21 balls was the turning point, particularly after he took Shaheen Afridi for 21 runs in the 13th over. Khan's timely batting gave Karachi a massive boost and ultimately led to their victory.
