Yashasvi Jaiswal Aims to Make History in Duleep Trophy

India’s top-ranked Test batter, Yashasvi Jaiswal, is set to feature for West Zone in the 2025 edition of the Duleep Trophy. The left-handed batter will take the field under Shardul Thakur’s captaincy in the semifinal match at the BCCI Centre of Excellence Ground B, Bengaluru, from September 4 to 7.

This season, Jaiswal has an opportunity to etch his name in the record books once again.

On the Verge of a Unique Record

Jaiswal has already scored 536 runs in seven innings across four Duleep Trophy matches for India B and West Zone. If he manages to hit a double century this season, he will become the first player in the world to score three double centuries in the Duleep Trophy.

Currently, only six batters have achieved two double centuries in the tournament: Arun Lal, Lalchand Rajput, Dinesh Mongia, Yuvraj Singh, Manish Pandey, and Jaiswal himself.
