As the highly anticipated India vs Pakistan clash in the Asia Cup 2025 draws closer, former Pakistan cricketer Bazid Khan has questioned Suryakumar Yadav’s effectiveness against Pakistan’s bowling attack.
In 5 T20Is against Pakistan, Suryakumar has managed only 64 runs at an average of 12.80 and a strike rate of 118.51. His last five scores read: 11, 18, 13, 15, and 7.
“Suryakumar scores against everyone, but somehow not against Pakistan. Whether it’s the pace attack or something else, it’s been an issue,” Bazid said on PTV Sports.
India Without Kohli & Rohit
Bazid also highlighted the absence of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, both of whom retired from T20 internationals. He believes India will miss the intensity and leadership that the two stalwarts consistently brought to the big stage.
“All these players are top-class, but the intensity that Virat and Rohit brought is something India will surely miss,” Bazid remarked.
Jadeja’s Value to India
The former cricketer further praised Ravindra Jadeja, emphasizing how crucial he was in providing balance across batting, bowling, and fielding.
“People talk about Virat and Rohit, but Jadeja gave India unmatched balance. He was among the top two fielders in world cricket. His absence will also be felt,” Bazid added.
Big Test for Suryakumar
The Asia Cup 2025 presents a golden opportunity for Suryakumar Yadav to turn his record against Pakistan around and prove his match-winning ability in high-pressure games.
