With the ODI series against Australia nearing its end, India’s T20I stars have left for the next leg of the tour. Suryakumar Yadav, who will lead the side in the upcoming five-match T20I series, shared a picture on Thursday from the airport, posing with Jasprit Bumrah, Shivam Dube, and Tilak Varma.
India Gear Up for Five-Match T20I Series
A Shubman Gill-led ODI squad is currently facing Australia in a three-match series. As the focus begins to shift to T20Is, the selected T20 players have started their journey to Australia.
The five-match T20I series kicks off on October 29 in Canberra, with India naming a 16-member squad for the tour. Seven of those players, including Gill, are already in Australia as part of the ODI contingent.
First T20I Series Since World Cup Clash
This will be the first T20I meeting between India and Australia since their Super 8 World Cup clash last year, where India clinched a 24-run win on their way to becoming world champions.
Earlier this year, Suryakumar Yadav also captained India to an unbeaten title run at the Asia Cup in the UAE. A lot of eyes will be on Abhishek Sharma, who was named Player of the Tournament in that campaign.
Bumrah Returns, Fresh Faces Join Squad
Pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah, who was rested during the ODI series, will return for the T20Is. Exciting talents like Rinku Singh, Varun Chakaravarthy, and Jitesh Sharma will also be in focus.
