Smriti Mandhana’s Father Discharged, But Wedding With Palash Muchhal Still on Hold

Smriti Mandhana’s father, Srinivas, who was hospitalised after suffering a heart attack on Sunday (November 23), has now been discharged. However, there is still no update on a new wedding date for Smriti and Palash Muchhal.

What Happened on the Wedding Day

On the morning of the scheduled wedding, Srinivas Mandhana’s health suddenly worsened while he was having breakfast. He was rushed to the hospital after his condition deteriorated further.

Smriti, who shares a very close bond with her father, immediately decided to postpone the wedding indefinitely.

Smriti’s manager, Tuhin Mishra, explained the situation on Sunday:

“His health deteriorated suddenly, and after waiting for a bit, we rushed him to the hospital. Smriti is extremely close to her father and has decided to postpone the wedding until he fully recovers.”

Latest Health Update: ‘Out of Danger’

As per recent reports, Srinivas Mandhana is now stable and has been declared out of danger. He has been discharged from the hospital, and doctors confirmed that angiography showed no blockages. His heart condition no longer poses a threat.

Palash Also Hospitalised Due to Stress

In an unexpected turn, Palash Muchhal was also admitted to a hospital in Sangli a day after Srinivas was hospitalised.

According to Palash’s mother, Amita, he broke down emotionally due to Srinivas’ health scare, leading to stress-related issues.

Amita shared that Palash has always been deeply attached to Smriti’s father — even more than Smriti herself.

She told Hindustan Times:

“Palash is extremely attached to Uncle… When he fell ill, Palash himself decided that the wedding should be postponed until he recovers.”
