Oval Invincibles, the men’s Hundred franchise owned by Mumbai Indians, made history on Sunday, August 31, by winning the Hundred men’s title for the third year in a row. In the 2025 final at Lord’s, the Surrey-based side defeated Trent Rockets by 26 runs, cementing their place among the greats of short-format cricket.
Jacks and Cox Power the Invincibles
Batting first, the Invincibles posted 168/5 in 100 balls.
- Will Jacks stole the show with a blistering 72 off 41 balls, continuing his golden run in the tournament.
- Jordan Cox chipped in with a valuable 40 off 28 balls to keep the scoreboard moving.
Stoinis Fights Back, Sowter Seals It
In reply, Trent Rockets’ chase never quite gathered momentum.
- Marcus Stoinis tried to revive the innings with a brilliant 64 off 38 balls, but lacked support from the other end.
- Spinner Nathan Sowter turned the game in Invincibles’ favour with 3/25 in 20 balls, earning him the Player of the Match award.
The Rockets eventually folded for 142/8, handing the Invincibles a comfortable victory.
Three Titles on the Bounce
This is the Invincibles’ third successive Hundred crown after titles in 2023 and 2024, all under Sam Billings’ leadership. With this feat, they became only the second team in T20 history to secure three consecutive trophies, after Jaffna’s LPL side (2020–22).
