Pakistan have announced a youthful squad for the Asia Cup Rising Stars T20 tournament in Doha, with Muhammad Irfan Khan named captain of the side.
Irfan Khan to Lead Young Pakistan Squad
The 15-member Pakistan Shaheens squad includes only three players with senior international experience — captain Muhammad Irfan Khan, spinner Sufiyan Muqeem, and pacer Ahmed Daniyal.
The rest of the team features promising talents from the under-19 setup, Shaheens squad, domestic competitions, and the Pakistan Super League (PSL).
Tournament Overview
The Asia Cup Rising Stars T20 will take place in Doha from November 14 to 23, featuring eight teams divided into two groups.
- Group A: Afghanistan ‘A’, Bangladesh ‘A’, Hong Kong, Sri Lanka ‘A’
- Group B: Pakistan Shaheens, Oman, India ‘A’, UAE
Pakistan will open their campaign against Oman on November 14, followed by a highly anticipated clash with India ‘A’ on November 16. Their final group match will be against UAE on November 18.

The selection committee has emphasized giving opportunities to emerging players who have impressed in domestic and A-team circuits. The tournament will also provide valuable exposure ahead of future senior team call-ups.
