Fight Breaks Out Between Abhishek Sharma and Haris Rauf, Video Goes Viral

The high-voltage India vs Pakistan Super Four clash at the Asia Cup 2025 turned fiery early on, as tempers flared between Abhishek Sharma and Haris Rauf. The incident unfolded in the fifth over after Shubman Gill struck a crisp boundary off Rauf, sparking a heated exchange between the Indian opener and the Pakistani pacer.

How the Incident Unfolded

Rauf delivered a short ball, and Gill executed his trademark short-arm jab, flat-batting it through mid-wicket for four. As Gill moved to fist-bump his partner, Abhishek turned back toward Rauf, visibly agitated. Reports suggest the pacer had a few words to say, prompting Abhishek to point fingers and engage in a fiery argument.

This was not an isolated moment. Abhishek had already set the tone earlier by smashing Shaheen Afridi for a six on the first ball of the chase, followed by an exchange of words. Gill, too, had his share of verbal battles with Afridi. Throughout Rauf’s spell, both players and the Indian opener were constantly at each other before the confrontation boiled over.

Rauf Has the Last Laugh

Abhishek eventually departed for a stunning 74 off 39 balls, attempting a big shot against Abrar Ahmed. Ironically, it was Rauf who caught him at long-on and then hurled the ball down on the pitch in visible anger.

Records Shattered by Abhishek

Despite the drama, Abhishek’s innings was record-breaking:

  • His first six off Afridi made him the first Indian to start two T20I innings with sixes.
  • He brought up his half-century in just 24 balls, the fastest by an Indian against Pakistan.
  • He also became the fastest batter to reach 50 sixes in T20Is (331 balls).

By the time he walked back, India were 123/3 in 12.2 overs, with the chase under control as Sanju Samson and Tilak Varma carried the innings forward.
