Fresh off a successful T20I series win against Sri Lanka, Bangladesh skipper Litton Das reflected on the road ahead — and it leads straight to a powerhouse Pakistan side.
Speaking to reporters after the third T20I, Litton didn’t hold back on the challenge that awaits. “Facing Pakistan in Mirpur won’t be easy,” he said. “They’ve got a well-rounded bowling attack and most of them have experience playing here through the BPL. That gives them an edge in these conditions.”
Back-to-Back Series Wins Give Bangladesh Momentum
Despite the looming challenge, Litton highlighted how far the team has come. “Winning in the West Indies and Sri Lanka back-to-back is massive. That’s no small achievement,” he noted, underlining the confidence the squad has built over recent weeks.
He added that Bangladesh’s key to beating Pakistan will lie in “playing smart cricket and adapting quickly.”
Dhaka Conditions Could Add to the Challenge
With continuous rain in Dhaka, Litton admitted uncertainty about the pitch. “I don’t know how the wicket will behave. With it raining almost every day, batting could be tough,” he explained. The Mirpur pitch is known for its unpredictable bounce, and wet conditions could make stroke play even harder.
Pakistan Return for High-Stakes Rematch
The T20I series marks a rematch between the two sides after Pakistan swept Bangladesh 3-0 in May. All three matches will be played under the lights at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Dhaka, starting July 20.
