The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has rubbished recent social media claims about a rift between pacer Shaheen Afridi, captain Salman Ali Agha, and coach Mike Hesson. In a strong statement, the board called the rumors fake, harmful, and deliberately misleading.
Viral Post Triggers Unfounded Speculation
The drama started with a post on X (formerly Twitter) that claimed Shaheen had personality issues with the team’s leadership. The post spread quickly, but it offered no proof. After facing backlash, the user deleted it.
The PCB responded firmly. They said the claim was made up and that no such conflict ever happened during any training or practice session.
PCB Sets the Record Straight
“The Pakistan Cricket Board categorically denies the baseless, fabricated, and defamatory allegations involving Shaheen Afridi, Salman Ali Agha, and a coach,” the statement read.
The board believes someone created this false story on purpose to stir trouble inside the team. They added that no incident occurred and called the entire rumor a clear attempt to damage the team’s harmony.
PCB Warns of Legal Action
The PCB didn’t stop at denial. They made it clear that they won’t tolerate defamation.
They called it a “serious and premeditated campaign” that harms the reputations of players and coaches. The board said anyone involved in spreading such lies could face legal consequences under relevant laws.
Team Focused Despite Distractions
The Pakistan team is currently in Florida, playing a T20I series against the West Indies. In the first match, Shaheen Afridi helped the team defend 178 with a brilliant catch.
With Salman Agha recently taking over as T20I captain, the team is focused on its preparations for the upcoming Asia Cup. Despite the noise off the field, the players seem united and determined to stay on track.
