India vs Pakistan, Other Asia Cup Matches Rescheduled Due to Heat

The Men’s T20 Asia Cup 2025 will see a major change in its schedule as 18 out of 19 matches, including the final, will now start at 6:30 pm local time (8 pm IST) — half an hour later than originally planned.

The decision was taken to counter the extreme heat in the UAE, where temperatures in September are expected to soar above 40°C.

One Day Fixture Unchanged

The only match unaffected is the day fixture between UAE and Oman on September 15 at Abu Dhabi’s Sheikh Zayed Stadium, which will begin at 4 pm local time (5:30 pm IST).

Tournament Opener & Venues

The competition kicks off on September 9 in Abu Dhabi, with Afghanistan taking on Hong Kong in the curtain-raiser.

  • Dubai will host 11 games, including the final on September 29.
  • Abu Dhabi will stage eight matches.

Groups & Key Clashes

  • Group A: India, Pakistan, UAE, Oman
  • Group B: Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, Hong Kong

The high-voltage India vs Pakistan clash is set for September 14 at the Dubai International Stadium, following India’s opening game against UAE on September 10. India will then face Oman in Abu Dhabi on September 19.

Super Fours & Final

The top two teams from each group will progress to the Super Fours, with the best two sides meeting in the final on September 29 in Dubai.

Defending Champions

India enter the tournament as the defending champions, having defeated Sri Lanka in the 2023 ODI Asia Cup final in Colombo. Sri Lanka, however, were the last winners of the T20I Asia Cup in 2022, when they beat Pakistan in the final.
