Suryakumar Yadav-Led India to Fly Directly to Dubai for Asia Cup

Team India, led by Suryakumar Yadav, will assemble in Dubai for the Asia Cup 2025. In a change from tradition, players will fly directly from their cities. They are expected to reach Dubai by the evening of September 4.

Direct Travel for Convenience

Previously, the squad would gather in Mumbai before departing. However, this year the BCCI opted for a more convenient approach. “All players will arrive in Dubai by September 4, and the first practice session is scheduled at the ICC Academy on September 5,” a senior BCCI official told PTI.

The official added, “Some players will travel from Mumbai, but it does not make sense to ask others to first reach Mumbai. Dubai is a short flight, so direct travel is simpler and faster.”

Asia Cup Schedule

India will start their campaign against the UAE on September 10. Next, they face arch-rivals Pakistan on September 14 in Dubai. Their final group match against Oman will be on September 19. The Super Four stage follows after that.

Domestic Commitments

Several squad members are currently playing domestic cricket. Arshdeep Singh and Harshit Rana represent North Zone in the Duleep Trophy quarterfinals. Meanwhile, Kuldeep Yadav plays for Central Zone against North East Zone.

Standby players Prasidh Krishna and Washington Sundar will not join the main squad as net bowlers.
